MASHCOM has tools and processes in place to ensure strict adherence with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines. HIPAA compliance committee in MASHCOM monitors and mandates compliance with HIPAA in the organization as well as with business partners. HIPAA compliance committee not only ensures compliance with existing guidelines, but also keeps up-to-date with any changes in HIPAA guidelines. |
MASHCOM ensures Information Security by achieving the following:
Data Transmission Security:
- We enforce use of HTTPS (Secured Socket Layer over HTTP) protocol for accessing our website.
- 128 bit digital encryption is implemented for any data transmission to and from MASHCOM medical transcription application.
Application Security:
- Authentication with Login ID and Password is mandatory to access MASHCOM medical transcription application. Only registered users can access the application.
- Access privileges are associated with User ID to ensure authorization.
- Transcriptionists can access the application ONLY from desktops with IPs registered in the application by MASHCOM Administrator.
- Audit trail of access and transactions by users as well as transcriptionists are logged and maintained.
Network and Desktop Security:
- Our network is secured with Cisco firewalls and anti-virus programs.
- All the desktops have Windows login id/password security as well as screen-saved password security.
- Floppy-drives on all the desktops are disabled.
Physical Security:
- All our transcription work is executed at our offices by our employees only. We don’t work with sub-contractors.
- Our facilities are guarded with security personnel and equipped with theft prevention devices.
- Each entry/exit to our facilities is logged and stored.
